Welcome to Milton Keynes Fencing Club. Are you an experienced fencer or just looking to try a sport that is a little bit different, whichever is true for you, we would love to see you at a club night (your first session is free). Currently we are the only fencing club in Milton Keynes or the north of Buckinghamshire that is open to the public and registered with British Fencing.
MK Fencing Club has been running since 1976 and always welcomes new fencers whether you are an experienced fencer or an enthusiastic beginner! If you are keen to start Fencing, we are happy to teach you all the basics needed to get you started. We will also lend you any equipment you will need until you decide to get your own kit. We also welcome Modern Pentathletes who are looking to improve their fencing. There are fencers with a wide range of abilities and from all three weapons so whatever you level, you will fit in.
We find that beginners do better learning as part of a group and so we run regular courses around Oct and Mar/Apr, these course offer a structured introduction to the sport alongside others at the same level. Our next course will likely start in the Autumn. If you would like to be involved in the next course you can find more details here.
Competition is important to us and we are part of the Three Counties Fencing League which provides regular team events against other clubs in the area (Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, and Hertfordshire) and provides an excellent introduction to competitions. We do also try to point our members in the direction of suitable competitions for their level.
Unfortunately we are unable to accept fencers under 16 years of age, there is however no upper age and we have people who didn't even begin fencing until their retirement.
